Good location and nice surroundings. Grab a bus into town if you don't fancy a walk. Rooms clean and comfortable although I found the pillows a little too soft for my liking. Food in the restaurant is lovely as is the breakfast (buffet style)

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were great. The pool was fantastic. However we did not have the breakfasts as they were too expensive. Overall good visit. Also one of the chairs in the hotel were torn but brill experience overall.

The stay was enjoyable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. But the main issues we had was: For the money, it was expensive for what we paid in terms of the room we originally was given was very small. We upgraded to a bigger room for free however this is what we should of got in the first place for the charge we was paying. The decor is very outdated and we was expecting the hotel to be more modern. The restaurant and bar is ok, however the rooms and decor throughout the corridors needs a renovation as it looks like a old hotel. We believe Marriott to be up to date and modern. The stay was enjoyable and still good (once we got upgraded) Yes there is a flat screen TV and a mini fridge, room service, it was clean also, and free toiletries etc etc. The staff was helpful and polite. Would I stay here again? Yes - But only if it was renovated. Worth the money? Average size room - no. Large room - yes.

Lovely hotel, not a single negative thing to say. Not a one!! Fully recommend and I'd love to stay there again should I go back to York. We drove, car park was great, but then got the bus in to city centre. Stops outside and very easy to access. Perfect.

Staff were friendly and polite. Food in the restaurant good and staff were very good.. But the rooms were old fashioned and needed updating. The bathroom was grubby fan didn't work mould on the grout and silicone. Very expensive for a very average room. Would never use again. The pictures on the website look a lot better than they really are

Excellent hotel, the staff and food are excellent. A special mention to the pool staff excellent service. The only reason I could not give it five stars is because on a Sunday it was impossible to get room service, however with the current climate this is understandable.

Very dated rooms.Heating not working. For the price this costs needs to be a lot better. The breakfast was reasonable quality. Food in the on site bar and grill was good quality. I have stayed in much higher standard travel lodges for a third of the price.

Nice hotel, grounds are lovely. Room was clean, bit tired looking, ripped net curtain, marked carpet, nothing major. Good selection of toiletries in bathroom. Nice comfy, big bed. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really nice, good selection. We had lunch the following day in the Iron grill restaurant (in the hotel), tge veggie burger was lovely. The meeting room in the conference centre was spacious with tea, coffee, water and stationery supplied. Would stay here again, Nice location, lots of parking, situated in the race course, not far from York City centre.
