Centrally situated nearby town but on steep incline towards any parking facility making it rather cumbersome if you have baggage or a disability. Staff are pleasant minus the very rude eastern european woman whose attitude to anyone locked out of their room is unacceptable especially as the place is locked tight because a key card is required at many entry points. That said the breakfast was good with a reasonable choice of fare - city views exceptional.

So the rooms are fairly basic. The breakfast wasn't the best. But the worst thing about this hotel was how far the car park is from the dues of the hotel.

Location good, once you figure out you have to arrive at level four of a certain car park. Parking is 3pounds a night or 10 pounds for a week. Security good, access cards to room and entrance slightly testing. Staff extremely, kind and friendly. Atmosphere warm. Overall nice stay to add to our addition.

I booked Holiday Inn Express because the price was good & it's location was central. After booking online a week later we had to change our dates so I called & a young man " Andy" answered. He was very polite & courteous & helped me to change my dates. We turned up at the hotel really early to leave our bags & Andy was there! He was just as lovely in person as he was on the phone. Throughout our stay he was very helpful, even put down his bag on his way home to get me some teabags & loads of sugar!! Such dedication to his job is outstanding & deserves notice. Thank You Andy for your Kindness & Yes We Took Your Recommendation & Walked Ikley Moors. The room was good had no issues.

Shocking room was falling apart and bathroom was a death trap. Toilet was wall hung and I didn't use it as it was nearly on the floor as the bracket had smashed tiles previously and they had just been filled to hide. Lights hanging off by the bed and curtains were moth eaten. Food from the bar was non existent. Menus looked good but only a few dished available and no vegetarian at all. Drinks were poor as no gas for beer pumps so bottles only and vastly overpriced. this was a work trip and the staff tried their hardest to make it OK but they were fighting loosing battle. Poor hotel in all and will never go back

Great hotel. Great people. My car broke down and I was 140miles from him with no bank cards or cash. Luckily I had joined the rewards club some years ago. They got me the room , at a discount, and gave me a late checkout. Can't thank them enough. Clean rooms and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend

4/ 5

Nice and friendly staff, very helpful, free breakfast was very good, but no air conditioning in the rooms and parking costs were too much. Upon arriving there was a big '£2 car park' billboard, only to get inside and find another few conflicting signs. So it turned out to be around £4 a day, which was fine. Except it would have meant a considerable walk for the family, with lots of luggage. So we tried the next car park which was part of the building shared by the hotel with other business's and services, such a Hollywood Bowl, Nando's and Pizza Hut. Again the parking costs weren't clear. So it turned out that you had to pay each time you left. So I spent about £15 in one day, including the 30 minutes (or less) to check out. Once in the rooms they were your nice standard rooms. But it was way too hot, with no air conditioning and only a single fan that plugged into one of two sockets that were on the opposite side of the bed. The staff were very helpful though and bought up a second fan with extension lead. The bathroom had an extractor fan but it didn't work so after someone took a shower the room we even hotter. It made for a difficult night and something worth considering. The free breakfast is a very good part of the booking. But on a hot day I'd personally prefer either to have a room with air conditioning instead or to go somewhere else that offers both. But it was a last minute booking and we were happy to be able to find somewhere. All in all is time or cost is an issue then I'd recommend this hotel, if not I'd try somewhere else.
