Family and dog friendly. Great in Summer as it has a large open area (the pub is set in an acre plus of green land) with outdoor decking so eating and drinking is available outside. Typical broad range of popular beers, lagers and wine. Log fires inside. Spacious. Menu is fairly limited but the food and service are good.

Over priced for the quality of the food provided. Ordered coconut curry, minus any hint of coconut ! Served with one large Chili pepper ? Pate served with two slithers of toasted bread! I don’t usually complain but this was totally unacceptable. For Vintage as a company to run with this type of menu they need to ensure that they provide value for money . Nice settings doesn’t mean you can fleece the customer. Will not be back to any Vintage Inn. Better quality food and value for money in my local.

Very slow service. Warm not hot food. Starters & dessert passable. Steak and chips meal... I ate half because I was hungry. Ordinary I wouldn't have accepted but don't know area and was too late to find somewhere else as staying at Premier Inn and no car. Wouldn't return.

Tried the Doormouse whilst in the area for the Yorkshire Marathon. Really loved this place - lovely decor, amazing service (really quick, happy to help and really polite). The food was fantastic - my wife and I hadn't eaten that well in ages! The Saturday offer was also really well priced. Cant recommended enough

Booked at the last minute as we were visiting York for a short break. Excellent menu and choice, quickly served (by Warren) who was very efficient and friendly. When he realised there was a birthday in our group, he went out of his way and put a candle in her dessert! The option to upgrade to a larger Gammon Steak would be a nice option, as I found it a little small (but tasted delicious anyway). Can highly recommend!

Wonderful Pub/Restaurant. We went with some friends who live nearby and have dined there before. We were seated at a lovely table inside and enjoyed drinks and lovely meals. All meals were well presented and it was clear that they source good quality ingredients. The Pork, Gammon, Pie etc were very tasty and the Black Pudding Mash 😋. Attentive waiting staff who fully deserved a decent tip. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending eating at the Dormouse, thanks to everyone for a wonderful experience and 👏👏 to the Chef's etc.
