The Carlton Tavern york

Nice selection of Ales Larger's beers and ciders. Food is decent not top quality though but decent for the price. I would recommend the Carlton for a chilled out evening and very glad it did not get shut down. Staff was friendly can't fault them at all. Good for kids as they have a play area for them to run around and play very brilliant and big beer garden.

Went on the Monday night two eat for £25 with wine. Fancied a decent steak. There were none and the only other meal I may have fancied was bangers and mash at £9.50 which to me is overly expensive and doesn't go with wine. Had my beer which was very good mind and went some where else.

Good honest local pub serving Hobgoblin on hand pull, often with another cask ale (usually Pedigree). Friendly staff and a welcoming local crowd. Child friendly.

Very nice and vast pub, with new lovely manager, food served on a daily basis from 12 noon till 8 pm. Large beautiful garden. Karaoke on Saturday. I certainly recommend it.

Excellent for parents of young children who like booze and great Halloween party for the kids

First visit and very impressed. We arrived late but were still greeted by friendly staff. Although we had to wait a while for our meal was worth every mouthful. Served hot with apologies for the wait and approached several times to ensure all was ok. Definitely worth another visit just a shame we are not local

Had a lot of fun at the quiz and enjoyed the free carvery we got for winning. Come here semi-regularly and always enjoy the drink, food and atmosphere.

Much better than the last time I was there! Lovely to sit outside, lost of place for people to take their kids, with a nice sized fenced in play area. The food was generous and tasty, I would definitely go again.

Sat in the beer garden both had a meal the girl who served us was so helpful and kind will definitely go again
