The Grand, York york

Fantastic hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We chose to have breakfast brought to our room, it was lovely! The room was very nice. Will definitely be staying there again.

What an amazing hotel. Me and my husband stayed here just before Christmas and what an experience. The room was beautiful with an incredible view. The sweet ice was impeccable and breakfast lovely. We can’t wait to return

If I could rate them any higher, I would. The service is impeccable. The prices are reasonable. Every room I've stayed in are comfortable, and very well cared for without exception. If you need a place to stay in York, consider this place first!

We spent a week at The Grand for our Honeymoon. The Hotel and its staff are second to none. The service from arriving to the concierge parking our car and the placing of our suitcases in the room was seamless. Perfect location for exploring and the staff were very helpful in point us in the direction of private restaurants in York, this was a choice we made to support local business. Thanks again for an incredible experience

We stayed there for 2 nights. The staff were very helpful. We had breakfast at the hotel which was the best we have ever had anywhere. Our car was parked for us and brought out on our departure. Cases loaded by staff and nothing was too much trouble. The room was in the newer addition to the hotel and it was beautiful, right at the front but not that noisy. The bath was huge and my husband could stretch out in it, he’s 6ft 3 so this is unusual for him. We had a fantastic power shower separate and the bathroom had underfloor heating too. Fab. There were lovely complimentary toiletries and drinks. We used the spa too and loved it. We will definitely return. Wonderful. Thanks to all at the York

We recently had the chance to spend a long weekend in York and sample the delights of the Grand. From the moment we arrived and met 'the legendary Wayne' at the entrance, everything went as smoothly and enjoyable as one could expect. A very spacious, spotless room, friendly and very polite staff, and excellent food, and a great selection of whisky from around the world in the bar awaited us. Had a great time, and enjoyed what we saw of York. We will have to fit in another visit in the very near future. Best wishes to all who hosted us. Wendy and Chris Aldridge.

We had a lovely stay at the grand as a family. The rooms were spacious and clean, with lots of luxury touches. Staff were fantastic- nothing was too much trouble. The spa pool facilities were great & the breakfast was spot on. We will be returning.

Loved every minute of our weekend stay here. The pool is wonderful and I had it all to myself on friday at 5pm, what luxury. Food was great and catered for all dietary requirements. (both at our private event & in the restaurant) Bed super comfy & enormous. Special mentions to Becca and Wayne on the front desk who both were so lovely at check in and during our stay. I loved the mix of the traditional architecture and the more modern furnishings and everything was spotless! Would stay again in a heartbeat 💖

We went for festive afternoon tea. It was nice, but hardly festive. Sandwiches were slightly stale, cakes were excellent, scones were okay. Service was a little lacklustre. Staff just seemed busy but not very efficient. They did make an excellent Espresso Martini! Personally I would suggest you take your money and head to Betty's Belmont room. Better quality all round, but you won't get a cocktail.

This review is for the afternoon tea. Usual selection of sandwiches and scones, presented well. Also a good selection of teas to try, you can switch between as many varieties as you have space for. The cakes were better than most afternoon teas, and very light so no difficult decisions over which ones to eat and which to leave.
