Stayed with my daughter for two nights and had a lovely welcome from Hannah on arrival. Our room was comfortable and clean. Dinner was lovely, big portion and tasty! We were served by Jake who was friendly, polite and very efficient. All the staff worked really hard as they also had a large party in for dinner but still found time to check that everything was OK. Check out was easy with Caitlin who was friendly and polite. A lovely team of staff and would definately stay here again.

This hotel is really showing its age, with rooms that are dark and uninviting and decor that really needs stripping back and replacing. It is obvious that there's a lack of care to the corridors as there are 3 walls with what appears to be open marks along them that I remembered from my last visit nearly a year ago. The one member of night staff (lady with a crutch) was abrupt to both my colleague and myself when we attended the bar. The only saving grace was the receptionist who greeted me when I arrived - Lyndsey who was polite, friendly and helpful. Lastly, I'm not sure if this a member of staff working at the hotel or an odd job man, but rather than wash what appears to be staff cars how about tidying up the landscaping.

Lack of onsite indoor pool, sauna, steam room and fitness area despite the advertisement. Receptionist stuff not eager to help, rooms below the 4 star standard. The dinner at Brasserie was very good and nicely served (really nice waitresses). Poor variety of vegan options for breakfast.

Initially I visited there for a ghost hunt. It's an old historical building. It was owned by the De Grey family a few centuries ago( I believe) Lots of lovely old thick panelled walls in some of the rooms Very well kept. It has a friendly welcoming vibe about it. Large bright high ceiling reception and open lounge area. Quite clean. Staff seemed quite friendly. A decent sized car park. I did not eat we were served coffee by the hotel waiter service. Which was very nice.

Great stay. Didn’t use house cleaning but it was available if we wanted it. The beds were a bit hard but that’s a personal preference . Fantastic blackout curtains. Breakfast could not be faulted. Also the staff throughout the hotel we’re really friendly. Really clean public areas. Amazing location in easy reach of park and ride close by. Our only complaint would be better in room coffee making facilities. Instant tea and coffee is so outdated now. Pod machines would be more appreciated

We loved our stay here, the staff we friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and comfortable. The public areas had ample seating and was pleasant. Both breakfast and evening meals were of a high standard. The proximity to York was brilliant, we used the nearby park and ride....although we were able to walk to it and leave the car at the hotel. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Would highly recommend

Had a good stay here, we got a decent rate for bed and breakfast and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is tired and needs renovation but it's clean, it's warm, it's safe and the food we had via the restaurant and room service was very good. The hotel is located around twenty minutes outside of York city centre and has a large car park. We dined in the restaurant when we first arrived and the food was excellent, breakfast can be a bit hit and miss and it felt like a lot of people crammed in to a small space with not much to protect against Covid. The room was tired but the bed was far comfier than in other hotels. Would probably visit again.
