I would stay here again because of the location but can be a bit noisy. As well as a hotel it is also a popular restaurant and bar with a very comfortable outside seating area. Well used by locals on a summer's day. Fantastic breakfast with lots of choices. We had a suite on the top floor which faced the front of the building where the outside seating area is. A bit noisy but it did ease off about 10.30. Would have liked a king bed and a more comfortable seating arrangement but the size of the room prevented this.

Brilliant stay, staff attentive at all times. Nothing is any bother and always happy to help. In the very hot few days we stayed there we asked for ice buckets for our room on a regular basis and they were only happy to help. Great stay and highly recomended

My husband and I loved this hotel! We were only in York for one night and wished we had arranged to stay longer. We stayed in Room 11 which was large and nicely designed. The only reason I didn't give the guest room a 5 is because there's no air conditioner. The fans helped but with the windows open the street noise in the morning woke us up early.

Had the chicken burger and replaced the chips with the super salad and it was lovely, really enjoyed it. Was let down with our plates and glasses being left on the table way too long after we had finished. Ordered the cheesecake desert which was also a disappointment as it was basically like having a granola breakfast. I would still go back as the main was yummy and would hope they take away the plates in good time next time

We have just had a 3 night stay here , this was our second time in this hotel. Like our first stay, it was fantastic, the hotel itself is such a lovely place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend. Walking distance to all of Yorks attractions.

Great place to stay, very central to all the shops, restaurants, York Minster and the wall. Less than a 5 minute walk from the train station. Rooms are lovely and clean, fresh milk left outside your room if you want and breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from. Would highly recommend.

This was an off the cuff visit. Whilst looking at the menu on the railings our dog was pulling us in and the guy in the gate let us know that digs were very welcome ! Once seated, a water bowl appeared before we were seen to. We thought the prices were a little high, but the food was well worth it. A lovely place to sit out front and watch the world go by. I gather there's also a lovely garden to the rear with great seating areas. Well recommended, we'll be back !
