Lovely stay at this hotel. It is 5 minutes walk from the centre but in a quiet location so ideal. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice but they could do with an extra toaster as the queue for this was backed up. Clean and tidy rooms. Staff helpful and friendly. It does what it says on the tin.

Middletons has had a lovely makeover since I last stayed about twelve years ago. My room was really tastefully decorated, really comfortable, and well equipped especially with power sockets, the staff were friendly and everything I ate was delicious. The location is excellent for visiting York either as a tourist or on business.

Perfect location for tourists!! Family of three: mom and two teens. Within walking distance to town and close to bus stop. Our goal was to maintain the York English feel in our accommodations and Middletons did not disappoint. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. We noticed that items we used daily in the room (creamers, coffee, water, cookies) were not only refreshed, but given additional for the next day. Breakfast was a wide variety of protein, fruit, eggs, meats, freshly made toast upon request. Most impressed with selections to meet any preferences. My daughter prefers a lighter fruit, tea and toast while my son is pile the plate with protein kind of guy. It was a great experience and we will definitely return when we visit my daughter at University.

Pretty garden settings for a hotel, kind staff, attentive, and very good customer service. Not the largest room but very clean, well presented and functional. Tastefully decorated bright and airy with fresh modern decor. Far superior to boutique hotels that can be dark and dingy. Very pleasant place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place is charming and the rooms were spacious and clean with everything we needed. And the location is fantastic. Everyone who offered help - either online or at the desk, was very kind and helpful. So glad we ended up staying at Middletons.

Lovely hotel. Perfectly placed for easy walking distance to York. Parking available which is ideal.

Lovely hotel. Perfectly placed for easy walking distance to York. Parking available which is ideal. Breakfasts are good and great selection. Room was great but bathroom needed upgrading, bath was a bit tired. Plenty of room. Clean bedding. Small fridge which was handy and fresh milk put in each day, nice touch. Staff really nice and helpful.

Pros: Good location. Rooms very clean. Fresh milk, tea, coffee and fridge in room. Staff helpful Cons: Cozy room size felt smaller than a travel lodge and therefore overpriced. The photos of hotel entrance are slightly misleading as didn't feel as premium as thought. Breakfast had a good range but tea was lukewarm and croissants cold.
