A great value, well refurbished Travelodge with good staff and really well kept rooms. Stayed in both the standard and super rooms before and both were good. There was once an error with room keys however this was quickly sorted and we got a free drink at the bar too which was really appreciated Will be back definitely.

We stayed for one night on a Sunday and overall experience was ok. Understandably less staff than normal but as there were only two girls on who seemed very new service was slow and they didn't seem to know much of what they were doing. Perhaps even just one senior member of staff or management in would have helped as we were waiting a while at the bar and the food wasn't great. Further training or supervision and this hotel could easily get 5 stars from me.

Although well-located and therefore priced accordingly, the hotel was dirty with lots of stains on the communal carpets and in our room. The bed runner was also stained. The staff, when present at Reception which was not often, were not friendly or welcoming, although the man serving in the cafe/var area was lovely. He actually stepped in to help on Reception when we arrived and the Receptionist came back and ignored us completely while he did her job for her. The fire alarm went off at around 6pm. We vacated our room and it was clear someone on our floor had been smoking, you could smell it in the corridor. However the alarm was switched off without any staff checking guests or the reason. We later saw a gentleman who was in a wheelchair speaking to the manager about the fire alarm. The way the manager spoke to the guest was really quite shocking, very abrupt and angry. I actually thought it was she who was complaining at first due to her raised voice and confrontational manner. Whenever we walked through Reception, often there was no one there and if there was, there was no attempt to converse, no eye contact, no verbal greeting. The hotel was fine for what we wanted it for, which was its central location and as a base for the weekend, and the shower was excellent. But on the whole, the hotel seemed quite shabby, stale and unkempt as well as quite unfriendly and for the price we paid for one night, I think it was disappointing.

Lovely central hotel. Room lovely and plenty of room. Staff friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, they even found us a fan for our room on request. Reviews said it could be noisy because of central location, but we never heard anything. Will definitely be back.

Adequate hotel My room was satisfactory for me, bed was comfy but the Pillows were very squashy. Overall appearance of the public areas was very tired & dated with dirty carpets & scruffy paintwork. Loved the coffee machine & the Kit Kats 👍🏻
