Folly Bridge House is a magical place, with the magnificent river on both sides of the house. Beautiful studios, all different with their own charm. I stayed there for 5 weeks when moving to Oxford for work, (summer 2019) and had a wonderful time. The staff is very nice and helpful. I wish I could live at Folly Bridge house at all times :-)

Folly Bridge House is an oasis of magic, calm, and beauty. Perched right on the River Thames, it is tucked away from the bustle of Oxford and yet walking distance to the center of town and surrounding nature. There was great care from the proprietor and her staff to make sure my needs were quickly met. They often went out of their way in generosity and kindness to make my stay completely memorable and lovely. The Folly Bridge House is one of the best things about Oxford ~ I highly recommend staying here! Thank you ~

We stayed in Oxford for 3 weeks in July of 2018 and decided to choose Folly Bridge House to stay. I can genuinely say that it exceeded my expectations - Catriona and Elli are wonderful and really make you feel at home. We had made a mistake with our reservation and arrived 1 day before and Catriona was happy to accommodate us on that very day even though we only gave her 10 minutes notice of our mistake. The studios are full of character - we stayed in studio salvia which overlooks the river. It has all the functionalities and equipment that one needs for a short or long stay. It is unusually quiet, despite being on the city centre and close to all major attractions, and the views of the sunset over the river from our window were simply unforgettable. The communal areas are cleaned regularly and, at least in the summer, there were always flowers everywhere inside the building. This level of detail really makes one feel at home. I could not recommend it high enough, and will certainly be staying there again on my next visit to Oxford. It is very good value for money and both Catriona and Elli are always available to help! Thank you for such an enjoyable stay!!

Just wonderful! A visually stunning and quirky building, comfortable bed and spacious room. I loved sitting in the morning with my coffee overlooking the river. Centrally located yet quiet, we spent the day seeing the sights and it was lovely to have a short walk home with easy access to a nearby Tesco for supplies. You couldn't ask for lovelier hosts too.

What a fantastic place! We stayed here in April/May and it was so peaceful and the surroundings so beautiful. The owners were delightful - very helpful and welcoming. And what a view! We stayed in Salvia which although doesn't have en suite has a bathroom right next door shared with one other flat. Highly recommended!

Folly Bridge House is a delightful place for a longer stay in Oxford. My studio apartment (Studio Iris) was marvelously decorated with the owners' gorgeous art collection. It had a lovely little kitchen, adequate storage space for all my things, and an excellently comfortable bed. A compact private bathroom with an excellent shower was just across the hall. The garden is beautiful and the fresh flowers throughout the house give it a very special atmosphere. Location-wise, it is wonderfully close to the centre of Oxford but the position on an island makes it feel like a retreat (and if you like to run or walk, it's super convenient for the towpaths!) I stayed in August-September 2021 for a seven-week visiting research fellowship and would highly recommend it to other scholars who are resident for short terms in Oxford.

Absolutely loved Folly Bridge House. Catriona and Kevan were wonderful hosts, really helpful, caring and interesting. We were very comfortable and the views were truly amazing. We could lie in bed and watch the Thames flow by on either side of us (yes, really). Folly Bridge House is ideally located for central Oxford. We couldn't have found a better place to stay.

I just booked for a short 2 day stay at Folly Bridge House but found it to be a delightful place. My room overlooked the River Isis and was bright, spotlessly clean and well equipped. As well as being by the river the location is ideal, just about a 10 minute walk from the city centre and most of the colleges. Importantly there is on site car parking too with plenty of space just in front of the property (parking is not easy in Oxford!)

5/ 5

Folly Bridge House is a delightful, unique space right by the centre of Oxford. The stunning building is very striking, and the inside couldn't be more clean, artistic and tastefully decorated. The room I stayed in was spotless and the bathroom, though small in size, had everything you could need, including a great mirror and a powerful shower. The view over the river was amazing to wake up to every day, and the balcony made the perfect place for breakfast in the sun; it felt very special to stay on this little island in the Thames and enjoy the peace and quiet. Can't wait to come back!

I lived in Oxford as a student and know the area well. For visitors, this is a lovely location right across the street from Christ Church meadow and a 5 minute walk to city centre. Location and the building's unique charm and history are its highlights for a stay. Other accommodation attributes were fairly standard: clean, comfortable bed, lots of hot water and good water pressure (I had private bath). Room smelled a little funky but I think it's just from being an old building. The management team is very responsive and kind. I had poor, virtually non-existant WiFi first night (top floor). Management had an extender set up the next day after I asked which totally fixed the problem. Would recommend as a a good value/economic option in Oxford. Kind and accommodating proprietors make it a nice option for long or short term stays.
