York Medical Group at Tower Court york

Awful practice, avoid if you can though that's actually impossible. The GP services around here are all run by York Medical Group. They run off the minimum amount of staff. I asked for a private referral 6 weeks ago and it has still not been done. Worse thing is no-one is taking responsibility for it and I spent over an hour on hold and being transferred to various departments. They have centralised the secretaries which has allowed them to cut down on staff expenses. Extremely poor, basic service.

Visited the practice with a vulnerable adult yesterday. Receptionist could not have been more gentle and helpful. Dr McArdle was incredibly thorough as well as compassionate to the patient, putting her at ease and comfort. Thank you, a very impressive experience.

Absolutely appalled at the telephone system; waited l 12 mins to get through to speak to someone! Then told nothing at all available even tho I explained it is urgent and a child ! (possible infection post operation ) Have to tell reception I will take my daughter to hospital before receptionist finally agrees to ' try ' to get me an appointment at another surgery.

Rang to arrange a diabetic review appointment after receiving a letter. Was kept on hold for over 25 mins. When eventually got to speak to a human voice and after being asked to please hold (again) whist they checked etc to be told no appointments till New Year and that I need to ring again then beggars belief. Why did they did not say in letter best to ring in New Year -( why sent out so near Christmas and New Year anyway when its always a busy time) Could they not just set an appointment and ask to confirm its ok etc. I'd received my annual retina scan appointment two days before giving a date to attend. No problem there.

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. I was referred here by 111, I spoke to a woman who's attitude is worse than anything I've ever seen in my life. Absolutely disgusting. She basically said its impossible that 111 referred me and I'm not a patient so go away. Receptionist of the year.

Absolutely appalling GP practice (this was also the case before COVID-19) and incredibly difficult to get appointments in the near future, yet a lot of the time there's hardly anyone sat in there waiting for appointments so what's that all about? Also extremely difficult trying to get through to them by phone. Would opt to give this place a '0' if I could. Disgraceful.

Very difficult to get appointments, all care and triage is rushed. Not necessarily the staff's fault at all- the quality of care you will receive here is increasingly common across the NHS, staff try their best with what they have

I just want to say Thank You to Petergate Surgery from the receptionist a few weeks back for her help and instruction on how to use Klinik. I wasn’t holding out much hope that it would even work, but it did! To the fabulous Doctor I actually saw today, Face To Face! Quite simply THANK YOU!

impossible to get an appointment for children. The Automatic system is awful and doesn't work. I am searching a new GP, due to the poor assistance. Most of the people are vaccinated , but they still working as it was the beginning of the pandemic. After one month my daughter still with the same problem and no solution offered. I still not understand why is it not banned from NHS. No way to discuss with the management of the group. It looks like they are more focused on money than people. Absolutely not recommended

I would give this doctors 0 if I could, even pre-COVID it was almost impossible to get an appointment, and good luck guessing what time to call them. The receptionists act like gatekeepers for whether you deserve to see a doctor or not, and 9 times out of 10 you are only allowed to see a nurse. Absolute joke, and if you're looking to register with a new doctors, look somewhere else
