I visited this Garden Centre to use Gift Vouchers to buy plants, various garden accessories and to have some breakfast. The breakfast menu is quite extensive and the café staff are friendly but the prices ridiculously high. A large latté (probably the equivalent in size of a small coffee in Costa) was £3.20; I opted for mushrooms on toast and got 2 thin slices of toast with just 2 mushrooms at a cost of £4 - expensive when a full veggie breakfast costs only £5.50 even if there was a good sized serving but for 2 small mushrooms a joke!! I then got all the garden things I needed and as usual at Wyevale Centres there was a chronic shortage of checkout staff - in this case just one poor girl struggling to cope with a long queue. When she eventually scanned our shopping she inadvertently scanned one item twice (not really her fault as she was under a lot of pressure) but she needed a "manager" to give us the refund - she sent for a manager and we waited...and waited....and waited so we asked her again and she, again sent for a manger and we waited....and waited. Someone eventually appeared and gave us the necessary refund. The place definitely gives the impression of being run on a shoestring and high plant prices, inadequate staff and exorbitant food prices are an attempt to squeeze as much profit as possible. Will not be going back and my advice would be to stay away.

Untidy. Restaurant disorganised. Frozen bread... seems like everything is frim frozen or microwaved. No clear signs to a menu. We were walking backwards and forwards fir quite a while before we found a menu. There were 3 different menus and only 1 was available. We had to ask at the counter for the light bites menu.. as a queue formed. When my sandwhich arrived it was on white instead of brown and had cheese slices... the coffee was bitter and the tea was sour.. there was greese floating on the top on the tea. Safe to say.. we will never visit again.

Not the best we vale garden centre we have been to. This chain of centres do offer a good selection of plants which all look healthy. We bought a few which were in the seasonal sale and they are now thriving in the garden.

Went in today for nasturtiums and hollyhocks, didn't have either, but did have the most splendid hanging baskets at a very reasonable £14.99. All the stock I saw today looked fabulous, colourful and healthy and the staff were friendly and helpful. I hadn't realised that Dobbies had taken it over, thus rendering my loyalty card obsolete. This is a very good garden centre with a good range of stock. Recommended.

A good range of plants and helpful advice from staff. There's a pleasant café, and one has to remember that a modern garden centre sells much more than plants. In the food section there are video advertising screens which bark 'Take it to the checkout NOW.'
