Not great to be honest. I will be changing surgeries asap. The Receptionist, pharmacy and Doctors always seem to be overly stressed whenever I go. Not seen a surgery like this in many years. An outdated and tired looking surgery, and a very unapproachable / abrupt Doctor whom I won't name, but I will put it down to her having a bad day and ensure I never book with her again for my own health reasons.

Have yet to attend an appointment here but the staff on reception were unbelievably helpful today in fast tracking my registration in order to get me an emergency appointment. Could not be happier with the service I received. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name but she was absolutely lovely!

Great surgery. Complete contrast to my old surgery. Receptionists are kind, caring and understand that you might not want to share details in front of other people. Doctors are compassionate, clearly care and don't rush you at all. The "open surgery" or emergency surgery is great - I think this makes a huge difference in allowing people to access the surgery when in need. Would recommend to anyone.

I always feel like I'm kept up to date with important information and never have to wait long for a call to be answered if I can't find what I need online. I would highly recommend to friends and family.

I am utterly outraged with how my mum has been treated. We have been going to this surgery for years and she just had a serious open heart operation and needs her tablets reviewed and the receptionist and the practice manager have not helped with topping up her medication. They have shouted and hung up on her and she is so fragile. This is not how you treat seriously sick and fragile people. This issue has not been resolved still or received an apology. It hurts her chest to cry and I makes me so upset to see her in pain. We have now going to move our whole family to a different practice.

My wife and I moved to Bath in December 2020 and are very glad that we are registered with the Widcombe Surgery. The registration process could not have been easier and since then we have had only the best experience of friendliness and professionalism from all the staff with whom we have had contact – sympathetic, caring, and very quick to respond. Top marks! A warm thank you to all. David Blunt

If you want to see an actual human professional, without a 2/3 week wait, you HAVE to make out it’s life and death. Otherwise, you get a phone call (not video call) which let’s be honest, for most issues, is about as useful as googling the problem or calling your mum. They also seem to have forgot that there were illnesses before Covid. People did get temperatures and viruses. People got chest infections. People even got coughs! We did get an appointment once and the doctor was dressed like he was entering Fukushima after the disaster! I understand the need for caution but have’t seen these extremist levels anywhere else in the NHS, bar those reports from the ICU you got on the news at the height of the PPE scandal. We have 2 young children, one only 6 months old and actual care, support, peace of mind and a professional opinion has been pretty much impossible to get. It’s currently a really really terrible service, completely disconnected with the community.

I have worked for the NHS for 25 years. I visited my friend today after she had been discharged after open heart surgery. This GP practice treated her with rudeness that I have never heard before in any capacity as a health professional. She had run out of tablets and was desperately asking for a prescription and advice before the weekend. We spoke to the practice manager who accused my friend of being rude when my friend could barely breathe she was in so much pain. I dearly hope that the call was recorded because this will be investigated by the CQC. Apparently the GPs at the practice are quite nice but the receptionist and practice manager are unprofessional, rude and should not be working in any healthcare capacity. I understand that people get stressed but patients and relatives should NEVER suffer for that reason. Her entire family will be changing practice as soon as possible.
