Sad experience
The experience in this record store was not only bizarre but it also ruined my and my girlfriend’s day. It was Sunday 5 pm and we were in a great mood browsing through records as in any other record store, when the person behind the counter ask us in a hostile way “what are you guys doing?”. Clearly confused I answered I did not understand the question, maybe he thought we were stealing. He repeated in a very arrogant and sarcastic way “no, I’m just curious what are you doing, as a I see that you are just going through records without saying a word to me”. Like we were supposed to pay him respects before browsing. And looking at my girlfriend he said “I see that you are struggling putting the record back in the sleeve. Because of people like you that just damage records and leave, we have to reduce the price of those records.. so I was asking what are you doing”. Completely shocked my girlfriend explained that, even though she was struggling to put the record back, she DID NOT damage it at all and was actually planning to buy it. So then he looked at me and said “I see you have sealed records there” implying I was going to purposely damage them or something. I explained it never crossed my mind to open those records. He went back to attacking my gf about her “inability to handle records” until she started to cry. When I saw that I gave all the records back to this individual and left the store completely confused and distressed. I don’t remember having such an offensive and undeserved treatment before. Even less my girlfriend, who literally could not recover for the rest of the day. We are clearely not going back ever again and hope this arrogant twat gets what he deserves. Congrats, you made a girl who was just excited to take music home feel small and abused… just to feed your ego. Even If you see that someone might need help with something it’s not right to unload a bunch of sarcastic passive aggressive comments to make the person feel like sh*t.
