Stayed for 4 nights and had a good time. Staff were helpful....it was about 33 degrees and very hot to sleep, no duvet needed and housekeeping gave us a top sheet instead which was far more comfortable. The room was large, would have slept 3 as we had a double and single bed but it would not have been cramped if there were 3 of us. Location is excellent for York city, literally 3 minutes across the bridge. Dining room staff were very efficient and helpful. We went with a coach company so dinner was at 6.30 which was a bit early for us but it gave us time to go just across the river to have a drink in one of the many pubs afterwards! The menu was limited but had adequate choices, this was due to the fact that they were serving over 40 at the same time. The standard menu had more choices but we were very happy with our choices. Definitely recommend on position alone but could not fault anything.

Very wonderful experience to be there. Smart staff, polite, friendly and helpful, large quiet room. Placed just behind the river with a large room to relax and a bar service. A good service during the breakfast and the dinner which changed every day. Very good value for money spent.

If I can I always stay here when I'm in York. It's location is perfect if you're coming by train, and very close to the city center. Rooms are always good and never had anything to complain about. I like the fact it's not a chain as the decor is more personal. Definitely my go to.
