Excellent service, staff were all nice and friendly and made us feel welcome. Good location, short walk into the city centre and reasonably priced. The bed was really comfy and the room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was really nice with lots of choice, will definitely stay here again when visiting York!

I've visited this hotel for both business and pleasure and It is my go to place when staying in York. Just a pleasant stroll away from all the action but it you went to stay in the food is superb and the staff are extremely friendly. Make sure to try out the jacuzzi and distress with a nice massage in gloots. Cannot wait to visit again

Lovely hotel. Everything is nice and clean. Our room was right at the top so not good if you have problems with stairs. All clean and tidy. Everything we needed, including iron and iron board plus hairdryer. Breakfast was hot and freshly made. Nice service. All staff were very friendly and nothing was any trouble to them.

We return here regularly, everything about it suits us well. Very close to the city walls, maybe a 3-5 minute walk? You can walk through the gardens into the city as well if you turn right out of the hotel. The staff are lovely, parking on site (extra fee), breakfast is great. Worth paying for a bigger room if you can. There's a hot tub in the garden (in a summerhouse) for guest use if you get a chance, I've never seen it really busy so plenty opportunities. There's a lot of stairs so if this is a concern I'd call the hotel direct and see what the options are for ground floor accommodation (there is ground floor rooms). Our only issue last visit is the car park is over subscribed! We specifically booked the car park far in advance (as it's I think £12 per day) and I feel only the spots available should be rented out for those days. People had to park in the middle of the car park for example, and I feel they must have known the car park was over booked since people pay/book a slot in advance. It should be declined if the car park is full. There is on road parking outside, I'm not sure how busy that gets.
