Books For Amnesty york

Excellent used book shop with large stock over two rooms they also sell through Amazon Marketplace. Very reasonable prices. Sections range from history,politics,art,social sciences other smaller sections are hobbies,self help,travel and a really interesting collectable section of old and interesting books. The fiction section is played out alphabetically. Sci fi/horror has a section of it's own as does children's and young adults. There is a useful recent acquisitions section and a local interest shelf or two. They have a selection of cds. It seems like the stock gets rotated quite often. A great book shop.

Whenever I visit York the Amnesty shop is always on my itinerary. Really good range of books, well displayed and very reasonably priced.

Second had books for a good cause

Visited the shop today for a browse and came home with a new read for a bargain price. The two employees behind the counter were so helpful and took the time out of their day for a chat. Really couldn't recommend visiting this shop more!

Nice selection of books at bargain prices

Very refreshing to visit a bookshop which is not dominated by celebrity cookbooks and ghost-written vanity projects. A small space not wasted, every book chosen deserves its space on the shelves of this well organised and friendly gem of a shop.

Still not Gift Aided .... wasted opportunity to boost value of sales. Why is that after all these years ?

Worst bookshop in York. Awful layout and selection of books. Fiction isn’t really grouped by genre so difficult to browse. Door was annoyingly slammed every time someone entered or exited.
