Waterstones york

What I like about Waterstones York is their fantastic themed window displays. Always a good range of books gifts and stationary. Also a cafe upstairs and toilet facilities. Dog friendly too so pooch can pick out a good book.

I have always loved Waterstones but this visit in particular was beyond excellent, Very friendly and helpful staff and lovely atmosphere. Can not recommend enough, even if there is not a book in particular that you want, you will find one thousand worth reading. Yours sincerely, Reuben Gilhooley

A great bookshop There is a lift to the first floor for those less able to climb the stairs. There is a cafe on the first floor which serves hot and cold snacks Plenty of chairs dotted around to sit and look at books before you purchase them

Really helpful staff. Took me right to the books I wanted and were familiar with the books too. Brilliant. Cut my Christmas shopping time by half at least!!

Always a great experience. All my Christmas presents come from here. Love time spent here and now they have a cafe. Not tried yet but will.

I love Waterstones. I often go in for a browse but end up buying something, because everything is so tidy, beautifully laid out, it makes you want to stop and look. There is a relaxed atmosphere in their shops, I find, and always someone there to advise you if you need it. I mostly buy books, but have bought games and bags from there too. A great experience.

Clean. Well stocked. Friendly and knowledgeable member of staff helped me find the book I required in a matter of seconds. Very impressed.

Good shop with lots of choice. The layout makes waiting to pay a bit difficult. The staff were very nice

Typical Waterstones. Visited on a day trip to York. Clear layout & easy to find the different sections. Nice and bright lighting.

Books nowadays are selling on the experience that they offer, well this shop offers the experience behind the books! Really well laid out and with an upstairs with a café . Very knowledgeable staff and a great place to spend some time unplugged from devices and considering what books you want to curl up with.
