Definitely excellent value for money. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and polite staff at reception. But one thing that I think is important in hotel rooms is a phone to call reception in case of emergencies or issues. As most people have mobile phone this is less important but should be replaced with a helpline or someway to directly contact a member of staff.

Room basic and clean as expect but food is grim. Tastes old. We asked specifically for the meal deal with a main and dessert, then asked for a couple of sides for little boy. The sides got taken off as the meal deal as they were half the price. If the food had been reasonable I mighty have ignored this, however as the food was so grim I informed man who collected our half full plates,l and did not ask why we left so much, that were had been over charged. He did not appear to speak English and just said to speak to reception. I did and got a very hostile response from the lady, who said it was in the small print. I argued that when we ordered it we asked for those things as the meal deal, and was not informed that was not how it would work or we should have just put the rest on a separate bill. Finally she went and got a man who refunded us. Really not a great first impression. We have not yet spent the night or tried the breakfast . . .

The staff here are wonderful, made sure I was on a quiet floor near the lift when the receptionist saw my walking stick. Breakfast was good, room was lovely and warm too! Real bonus. Would definitely recommend.

For budget accommodation the room was more than adequate. A comfortable bed which is what I needed at the end of a busy day. The lady on the desk in the evening could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Based on my experience of her I will give the place 5 Stars. However, the 3 stars relate to my overall experience. I’d like to feel good when I start off on my day and to have breakfast with the BBC in the background carrying on with the Covid scaremongering was not a pleasant experience. It’s just so sad that where ever you go these days you can’t get away from people being worried about the flu!! The car parking is fine but two nights is enough. Having said that I would recommend the place.

A decent place to sleep and have breakfast Stayed there for 2 nights in Sep 2021. I was pleased to see recommendations to wear masks in the public areas, partitions, and hand sanitisers at regular intervals. The room was basic but the bed was comfortable and the room perfectly functional for a couple of nights. The breakfast (for which I paid in advance) was good. Pity there are no fried eggs, and black pudding but otherwise an acceptable English breakfast with which to power through the working day.

If you're looking for a budget hotel who have friendly staff then it's a great little hotel. The staff make this hotel. Cons: The standard travel lodge facility issues no matter where you go which include no hair dryer and no lock on the toilet door, which for anyone with kids knows this is both a blessing and a curse. There is also a shower with a curtain which sometimes slips out allowing water all over the floor. The breakfast selection is alright when it's full but it's a bit steep at almost £9 per person. Pros: It's one of the cleanest Travel Lodges I've stayed in and the beds are comfortable. The staff are great and.helpes us out with soya milk instead of dairy for our complimentary tea/coffee. The heating works amazingly, better than any other hotel I've been in and on the same note windows open enough for a breeze/let cold air in enough as well. They're restricted but not like to the width of a napkin. Really have no complaints largely about staying here. Best for short stay though.
