Mixed experience at this place- we came in as a group looking for a quick drink. The drinks our group had were pretty good but the service wasn't great. The service was slow even though the pub wasn't that busy, the staff were quite abrupt and our bill took a look time to arrive. One of the people I was drinking with got given the wrong order. There was weird atmosphere and I don't think this place really merits the 12.5% service charge but the selection of drinks is pretty decent.

The Pump House is a truly lovely old building, in a great location. This used to be my favourite pub/restaurant in Bristol, however, it has changed a lot in the past year, and has lost a bit of the magic, with the restyling taking away a bit of the old character. It's a perfectly nice spot for a drink and deli-style food still, however. A good stop, if you're passing by, but maybe not quite worthy of a special trip

Strange atmosphere and attitude from staff. Arrived soaking wet and sorting out wet clothes and were met with a demand to sign in. Then told to pick a table in an offhand sort of way. This continued throughout the evening including the wine waiter, who might have been the manager. Had the burger which in fairness was tasty and good quality, however the triple cooked chips were definitely not triple cooked, more like frozen and oven warmed. Might be a strange time at the moment. May improve under more normal conditions but I wouldn't rush to go again

Myself and 3 friends stopped in for a pint whilst scootering round our home town on a sunny afternoon (03/06/21). We were greeted by a particularly rude waitress who didn’t say hello just said ‘masks on, no smoking, track and trace’. As we’d stopped we decided to just bare with and hopefully the service would improve. It did not. The waitress (with short red hair and an accent) didn’t say a polite word to us the whole time. We thought she might be having a day day but when she greeted other customers she was cheerful and polite. I didn’t want to complain but thinking about our experience I had to give a 1 star review and explain why. I’m not sure why the staff at the pump on are so prejudice. I wonder maybe as we look younger than we are (2 in our group are over 30 but could be mistaken as younger). I do hope it wasn’t as the third patron was mixed race. Anyway, we won’t be coming back. What a shame.
