Had a great few days here. Lovely comfortable room with excellent bathroom. Very clean with conscientious and obliging housekeeping staff. Nothing too much trouble. Bar and restaurant staff very friendly. Food was excellent, very high standard. Location great for visiting city centre. Bus stop outside and buses every 10 minutes so no need to use the car. Planning to stay at this great place again.

My friends and I had a lovely lunch at the Plough today. We booked in advance and were given a very generous size table near the bar. The food was delicious (great size portions!) and the staff were very friendly. We stayed for nearly 2.5 hours, what a fantastic place! I will definitely be visiting the pub again!

I must be blessed!!!. This is the second of what will be three great reviews of restaurants in York. The Plough is a lively and eclectic pub ( pictures screwed to the ceiling). The food is far superior than some fine dining restaurants I have been to. Attentive service, generous portions and flavour beyond compare. Try it you will definitely NOT be disappointed. For the record I had the Rib eye and my partner had the Risotto both cooked to perfection.

Fantastic service! We had booked a table for four of us outside, however when we arrived it was raining heavily and it was too cold to sit outside. The staff were very accommodating and made sure that there was a table for us inside, despite all tables being fully booked. The food was really good too. Really pleased with how they made sure we could still eat there because of the weather and the food was great too.
