I went to see the movie Mirai. It was a more pleasant experience than seeing the same movie at the local complex. It's an attractive building inside and out. The sound system is good. Nice atmosphere. Be nice if they showed more Japanese movies :)

First show back at TOM after Covid and loved it. Mask wearing was mandatory and masks were available if forgotten. Their Covid secure bar area is sympathetic to the building with clear screens hanging from a network of beautifully decorated branches with fairy lights. Looked quite magical and was incorporated into the design rather than a stark reminder of the times. I loved the new Smirnoff passion fruit martini cocktails on tap in proper glasses not single use plastic. Staff were very friendly, helpful and quick. The show Rutherford and Fry was fantastic. I could have listened for days to the interesting information they shared. Great show and also had a touch of trickery that added to the magic. I've been back to as many shows as I can at the Brighton Centre, Dome, London Palladium but the Old Market was the one I felt the safest but at the same time the closest to "normal" as possible. It is a smaller venue so social distancing is difficult and the seating was full capacity. Also they have gender neutral bathrooms as there are separate cubicles.
