The Oak Bistro cambridge

We visited the Oak Bistro on Saturday night for my wife's birthday and what a lovely place! The service as fantastic and the food was incredible - hats off to the chef! Tasty, good sized portion and presentation was immaculate. My wife and I eat our regularly and we both said it is one of the best meals we have had out in a very long time! We sat outside in their little secret garden are which was very romantic and cozy (Umbrellas cover it with heaters). Phil (Manager/owner?) was our host and he really went the extra mile to make sure you enjoyed the evening. He even arranged a candle for my wife at dessert and sung happy birthday! We had a great evening and we will definitely go back. If you are in Cambridge or visiting soon, I highly recommend trying this place.

Fantastic! Quick service. Delicious food. Satisfactory serving sizes. Comfortable outdoor seating with umbrellas and heaters if rainy or chilly. £50 for 2 dinner meals and 1 dessert.

Had dinner here from the a la carte menu in the evening, from the moment I stepped into the restaurant we was attended to and made to feel very welcome. We were showed to our table and our coats taken and hung for us, we received excellent table service from start to finish. We both had the scallops for starters which were outstanding, followed behind by my beef wellington and my partner's duck confe which were both incredible in taste and presentation. I would highly recommend this place we both had starter's, mains, soft drinks and a cheeseboard to finish and the bill was a pleasant £84.00 which I was expecting it to be more. An all round pleasant experience from start to finish.

Excellent food and comprehensive wine list. We had the scallops, artichoke soup, lamb, and rib-eye steak. All meat and sides cooked perfectly. Service was good, decor is a little rough round the edges but overall great value for the quality of food and wine.

I really liked it. Very good service and environment. The noise level was fine to have a nice conversation. The food was excellent.

I give 5 stars only because I can’t give 6... impeccable service, excellent food. Philip and his colleagues do an amazing job, I’ve been there multiple times and I can’t find a single thing to say it’s not perfect. It’s a must if you come to Cambridge! Highly recommend: the salmon terrine for starter, the halibut fillet for main and the strawberry cheesecake for dessert. You won’t regret it! Thank you Oak Bistro!

Had midday lunch roast, mediocre is the best description

Fantastic restaurant, was my first visit but won't be my last. Did the set lunch menu which was fantastic. Wine choices were brilliant, staff were brilliant - were always available but never pestered

Husband and I dined here twice in the last year. Both experiences were absolutely delightful! Service is superb and food is great. We wouldn't dine here regularly, but the perfect place for a pricier fine-dining experience!
