I love this pub. It's a little bit out the way for most Cambridge people as it's about a 20min walk from the town center. But the pizzas are great and has a nice atmosphere. Gets fairly busy but not uncomfortably so. Noise levels aren't are good for conversation. Just all round a good place to hang out and have a drink and maybe food with friends.

Lovely, cozy pub atmosphere with plenty of space. Back patio is great during summer, though can get full quickly. Nice selection of beers and OK wines for a pub. The pizzas are serviceable -- not going to change your life, but they scratch an itch. Some of the pots are also quite satisfying. Big gripe: SALADS. They have three on offer and the ingredients are an odd combination. Most of the time, at least one is sold out in the middle of the dinner hour. And man are they poorly made ... weird proportions of things put together in really unappetizing fashion, just dumped in a bowl without a lot of thought. It's really nice to have a salad to go with your pizza, but these are inedible. It's a shame -- salad isn't difficult. In any case, it's a fine pub to have for your neighborhood local.

A very good modern pub with great pizzas (try the sea food one!), and more. They have different deals for every day of the week which makes the outing affordable too. Also, the staff are very nice and offer good service. Lovely all around.

We have been visiting this pub since their latest refurbishment and I have to say they have never let us down! Amazing tasty dishes with a great atmosphere! We love the style and the decor as it is different from other places. Their food is exceptional with great variety. We love their beer selection especially the ones from their Brewery. The service is just the cherry on the top. Always friendly and welcoming! Especially Maria who has taken care of our party every time we visited! If you are in the area and looking for a pint and/or food, we definitely recommend paying them a visit!

We had a lovely evening meal here in Nov 2021. The real ale was tasty and fresh and the food we ordered was well worth the price. I would go back here as the quality was good and the chefs certainly use fresh produce. The kebab and pizza although good value, were rather skimpy on meat volumes (in other words; a little meat and lots of veg). A guest ale wouldn't have hurt either. The interior was rustic and interesting and the way the food was served matched the settings. Service was excellent at all times. Overall experience was very good. I hope to return in the near future for a bite to eat and some ale. Great pub experience.

Came in on a Saturday evening with friends, firstly we we’re informed the system doesn’t go live until 5pm for food orders, which is ridiculous. One of our pizzas then came and was very burnt, a second was passable! Whilst ordering drinks I mentioned this to the barman. His response was your going to have to wait until I have more staff on. Appreciate places get busy, but having one barman serving drinks and also serving the food was a joke, equally we understand in these strange times it could be due to sickness but no explanation was offered!! He then didn’t come over at any point after this! We ended up having to go directly to the chef to ask they re-do the burnt pizza, the responses was for him to walk out of a door and slam it behind him. 45 mins later after everyone else had finished their pizzas the new pizza arrived! Still the barman is yet to come over, no explanation or apology offered, but he has found time for a cigarette break! We are exceptionally unimpressed with the terrible customer service offered and won’t be returning. L.

You will not find me anywhere else on a Monday night than at Carpenters Arms! I have a standing reservation to enjoy their 2-for-1 pizza special and look forward to playing the pub's board games during the short wait for food. I have tried nearly every pizza and have not yet been disappointed. Treat yourself to a reservation, you will not regret it!

I'm always happy to go to a Charles Wells pub. This is no exception. Inheritor is beautifully cosy.
