You pay 290£ a year as a student at University of Leeds to get an overcrowded gym with an abundance of running machines with a ridiculously underwhelming amount of actual gym equipment especially considering the demand and staff who when you forget your card point ironically at a sign no card, no entry. What an amazing service, considering its almost twice the price of a normal gym.

5/ 5

Modern gym complex with excellent facilities. There is a large gym and squash courts, as well as space for various sports in the main halls. I've only used the pool and sauna, but they are the best I've been to; large, clean and centrally located on campus. You need a pound coin for the lockers and be aware that the changing area is mixed, with lockable cubicles. That threw me to start with, but is fine!

My daughter has been doing swimming lessons hear for the past 3 years. Staff are wounderfull. Car park is free for the people with lessons. The lobby is big with a good amount of sofas to sit on, while watching the kids swimming lessons. I would recommend this place to every one. By far the best place for swimming lessons.

There are far better places to go and here's why: The Edge is malicious and predatory in it's pricin

1/ 5

There are far better places to go and here's why: The Edge is malicious and predatory in it's pricing, taking advantage of students. £465 for a year... and that's the cheapest option for me) As a student, I have to pay rent, bills and generally live, money is something I need to keep on top of and univerities understand this. I was in complete shock when I found out an annual subscription cost £465, monthly subscriptions cost £40 or if you want an hour of badmintion it's going to cost £7. If you want to swim that's another subscription too. If you're not a student it's going to cost £540 annually Due to the fact I attend Leeds Beckett I was offered an "ALUMNI" membership. If you're a student at Leeds university that's slightly cheaper as it costs £290 annually (Which is still predatory on students no matter which university you attend) I recommend looking into Leeds Beckett memberships in terms of sports. Swimming costs £99, sports memeberships cost £139 and the Athletic union costs £198/£229.

The pool is ok - however the gym is very bad value for money. Additional: A very dirty gym space.
