Stopped in here on a whim for cream tea. Such great value! Amazing fresh scones, delicious tea, and such gorgeous holiday decor. The service was phenomenal and everyone was so kind and pleasant. Will definitely be coming back here!!! We were treated so well even though we’d just stopped in for a snack during our Xmas shopping.

My wife and I went for afternoon tea at The Athenaeum Hotel today and every aspect of the experience was fantastic. Paul Barnett and his team, Alam and Fabio really pulled out all the stops to make us feel welcome and ensured that we fully enjoyed ourselves. The choice of tea was fantastic and the food itself was of the highest order. Really tasty finger sandwiches followed by scones and a variety of cakes: all delicious (helped down with a glass or two of Prosecco as well!). We left feeling delighted that we had chosen The Athenaeum to have Afternoon Tea in, and very full too! I would really recommend it.

I visited to enjoy the 5 course with wine pairing taster menu with my wife. The experience was pleasant, sophisticated, grown up and very welcoming. Our expert was called Fabio, who knew everything about each plate & glass of wine/port. The food was tasty and well presented. Highly recommended.

I was here for their afternoon tea. The staffs are all well-trained, friendly and professional. They have a respectful way of delivering the service. The environment was classy and quite, a bit old but you feel comfortable staying there. There are curtains to ensure your privacy. As for the food, I love the white chocolate mousse, this is the best mousse I tried so for. I will also recommend the scone, cute to see them being wrapped in the cloth. Macarons and others are just okay for me. Somebody told me that they used to serve your tea with a ”tea book”, unfortunately I think it was not here anymore, which is a real shame. You still have a wide range of teas, they are still in good quality. I like Red Berry. The amount of the set menu is enough for two woman. 4 stars for the service, the price, and the environment.

Review of the spa! Absolutely divine. My partner and I went for a couple’s spa afternoon. We had almost exclusive use of the facilities including a hot tub, steam room and sauna, naturally accompanied with a glass of Prosecco. This was followed up by a massage and salt scrub that left us both feeling super relaxed. The ladies really took care of us and I was very impressed with the service we received. There are lots of different packages available, some including afternoon tea and dinner if you wish. Price wise, it’s actually really good considering it’s Central London location. It’s only losing a star because the booking process was a little awkward, involving a few emails and a phone call, although I believe that is temporary due to the pandemic. We went as day guests, but the hotel looked pretty nice too, might give that a go!

Incredible experience! My girlfriend and I had a Afternoon Tea experience which is a completely new world to us "casuals" being used to Premier Inn's. The gentleman outside in the top hat was a charm, the hotel on the outside is beautifully ordained in living plants, which in London stands out! Inside its sleek and fresh, you get the aroma of perfumes and tea. The tea experience itself was stunning, beautiful cutlery and table sets, the selection of teas, coffees and bubbly was endless but all so very nice! And the fresh scones are to die for. And a special personal note, all the staff including the receptionists and young lad who served us made the day extra nice Thanks to all.

My boyfriend took me here for a spa treatment for my 24th birthday and then we stayed here overnight (this was a surprise) The Spa treatment (massage and facial) was so good that I actually fell asleep halfway through ! My face was also glowing after the facial, to the point that i have now have facials every other month. In addition, the room was very nice, clean and spacious and my boyfriend let me know after we stayed there that they had actually upgraded the room free of charge so that he had more space for surprise decorations. They really helped make my birthday special

Booked a Reconnect spa package which included a three course meal with a bottle of champagne. The service staff and massage therapists were very nice . The spa is quite small and there is no place to sit other than in the room with the hot tub and sauna so don’t get there too early. They only allow you to arrive one hour ahead any way. The chlorine is really strong in the hot tub which is probably good but it really burned my eyes so we didn’t stay in long. The ladies and mens dressing rooms are quite small. My husband said more than one man in there at a time would be uncomfortable. The showers themselves are nice and the lines they provide are fine. The spa experience was fine but quite different from the US spa experience. It may just be the package we selected. You are in one room together as a couple. They started us on our backs with a very gentle massage, then turn on your backs. After the back massage they do a dry salt scrub on the same table . You remain in your salted state while they do the facial and then you go to back to the dressing rooms to shower off the salt once done. Just make sure you understand what you book and you will be fine. We didn’t book a hotel room . We ended up booking our hotel at the Sheraton right next door because once we decided we wanted to stay, they were booked up. That worked fine as it is so close . The meal was a nice addition but I wasn’t thrilled with the set menu or the food. So sorry. I think the overall experience was nice but it is expensive so make sure know what you are booking
