Awful company and customer service. After being a loyal gym member for over a year and a half I gave 30 days notice to leave and they are now chasing me for debt when I am leaving due to maternity leave and way past my year contract. Disgusting way to treat loyal customers and definitely will not be returning after my maternity leave! Avoid this gym and their customer service at all costs..

Joined up to this gym after looking around different clubs in Liverpool st and it's exceeded everything I needed and more. Gym instructors know exactly what they're talking about and have helped so much. Facilities are brill and i always get a great workout with the classes. Pool/sauna/steam room are just heaven. Definitely recommend.

The equipment is varied and in good condition. However, the facilities are often under maintenance (pool, spa) and the staff are not as helpful as they could be (spend more time chatting to each other than helping members on the floor). I emailed the manager on a couple of occasions to discuss my concerns but never received a response. Given the monthly membership costs, I would recommend a different gym.

There are some good and some bad things about this gym: their range of equipment is good but quantity is low, pool & sauna are fabulous, but it's overall quite small... Saying that it's never crowded as they're keeping the membership numbers down and it's expensive - great if you can afford it, considering the touch bracelet for entry & locker, free energy drinks and fabulous showers, it's costly but worth the money

Avoid, their customer service is even poorer than the worm filled facilities. I wanted to have a session on the 1st of Feb at their Russel Square club and asked for the membership options and never got told about the option for a day pass so I went with the monthly. I only got told by a friend afterwards that they do day passes too, which came as a surprise to me. One month later, on the 1st of March my direct debit got my membership renewed and considering that I have only used the facility once before and did not intend to use it in March at all either, I asked for a refund of the March fees I prepaid for. Haven't heard back after sending multiple emails. Later when calling the head office they told me that even though I have only used the facility once over 5 weeks and that they never informed me of the option for a day pass, they will refuse to give a refund as the T&C states I need to give a month's notice. At the end as an extra, Edwin Bance, their GM even accused me that I didn't ask the receptionist about the day pass option (which I did), despite him not knowing about how our conversation with the receptionist went. I do understand that this stands up legally, but fails on many levels of doing fair business: not telling the customer about the membership options, not replying to the refund request emails for 9 days and refusing to give a refund for a service that I prepaid for and do not intend to use. Stay away from these facilities, a poorly equipped gym without hot water and worms in the showers is not worth the hassle.

Can't knock it, fantastic gym in the middle of the city with a nice Steam Room, Sauna and Pool. Been coming on and off for about 5 years, I'd say it's the best value for money gym in the city. For those that think it's expensive, 2 doors down there's a Virgin Active that costs nearly double.

Nice facility. They provided a wrist band as a fob which I find unique. Cardio area is spacious. Free weights area is also adequate with squats racks and cable machines etc. The pec deck fly machine was missing. Showers facility was missing moisturizer and the swim dryer wasn't working. Couldn't find water station but they provided a bottle for free. Overall, at par with Nuffield and fitness first.

Cramped gym and changing rooms. Brain dead customer service from the overall company. Won't be using any Banantyne gym again after being a regular for years.
