Avoid at all costs if my experience is anything to go by. Their slow progress, poor communication and apparently utter contempt for clients and all in a housing chain meant it nearly collapsed. Everyone in the chain waited weeks and weeks for them to act and almost led to it collapsing when everyone else was ready. Complaints and efforts to speed things up were met with high handed disdain. Indeed even their staff were afraid to relay requests directly to the conveyancing solicitor. I've never seen such low standards in a 'professional' services business. Whilst I've only experienced the effect of their conveyancing service as part of a chain, I can only assume that this attitude and poor service runs throughout the practice. My advice based on this is .... don't risk it.

We used Thakker and Co as my Solicitor when we brought our first property, as we had read a couple reviews which spoke very highly of them. Going into the process we were a little apprehensive as we'd heard that property buying is stressful; there's a lot of unknowns, they cost a lot of money etc etc. We had Simon Boardley as our Solicitor, and we couldn't have felt more taken care of. He did not miss a single detail off of the contracts and of the paperwork going back and forward. And being the first link in a chain of 5, there was a lot going on. Myself and my partner genuinely felt that Simon had our best interests at heart. He fully explained every decision we were faced with, alleviating any potential anxieties moving forwards with our choices, and took great care to make sure that it was all understood. I would 100% use Thakker and Co again.
