A really interesting place to visit, informative guide too
Great tour, lots of information to read! Well worth a visit ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
ClubZero Ghost Group investigated the Stockport Air Raid shelters a good number of years back, around 2005 or so. We where the first group to ever do so. We went everywhere the public could not, our guide was called Vic, since sadly passed away. Some of the current tales from tours actually came from our experiences there...
Really enjoyed seeing the air raid shelter. Pretty incredible. Went on a week day afternoon in October so it was quiet. Both staff working were friendly and afterwards there was some reasonably priced souvenirs available for purchase.
What an amazing place! Very informative and a great place for people who find ww2 interesting. It’s very eerie though, I have 2 videos and a picture of orbs in 2 different parts of the shelter. I also heard what I thought to be footsteps in the gated up areas whilst no one with my group was moving (there was only three of us and there wasn’t any other people there). if I could I would rate it 6/5. It’s great!
Fabulous to walk the tunnels that kept people safe during WW2. Grandson was thrilled to see everything war related and finally get to sit inside a real Anderson Shelter - he made a model one during lockdown for War Week homeschooling - he now wants us to dig one out in the garden! Staff here are lovely and the tour was very informative. Lovely little shop for replica WW2 memorabilia.
Very interesting visit! Staff at reception was very willing to help. Tour is audio guided by default and you can take it at your own pace, estimate around an hour. It is humbling to visit the actual location history took place not too long ago!
Really interesting and informative place. Can tour around at your own pace with audio guide. Staff friendly and helpful...
