Came with my mum all the way from Stafford because I’d heard great things. Turned up at 2pm was n Friday and nobody answered the door. Says on website 12-4 but just realised it’s 12pm to 4am? Are we doing nocturnal retail or is that a mistake? Super-disappointed. Mum’s moved into a bigger place and wanted something really special but it wasn’t to be. I suppose I’m stupid for not calling ahead but whose shut at lunch on Fridays??

Appalling service! Entered the store looking for a side table and would not recommend this place to any one, rude staff who seemed completely uninterested in my custom. I would give this store the rating of half a star if I could.

I had a couple of jobs done by the team at Pilgrims. Very pleased with both! For instance, my duet piano stool was expertly recovered and the woodwork revitalised. The work was done to a very high standard and price was very competitive.

Wow! What a fascinating place this is. I've been a few times now and purchased several pieces of furniture, all of which had been restored to their original glory. Selwyn the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable and always happy to advise and show you around. They even do custom restoration and painting which was great as I wanted something quite unique with an item I had bought. Every time time I decorate a room in my house I always pay a visit Pilgrims Progress to see what I can get.

We needed a new bed about 15 or more years ago and we found a beautiful old bed frame at Pilgrim's Progress. Selwyn made a lovely divan to go on top of the frame, and they also polished the headboard and footboard - we were made up with it and have loved it over the years. We recently decided that we wanted a king-sized bed/mattress, but still wanted to keep the old bed. We asked Selwyn what we could do, and of course he came up with a solution - he refurbished a 1930s kingsize sprung divan to replace our old one. This is now happily sitting on our old frame, and our bed is looking as lovely as ever! We also took a couple of wooden tables down to them that we had neglected over the years, and the job that they did was amazing - they mended them, stripped them down and polished them up and they are back to their beautiful state. Thanks so much to Selwyn and his team - the hard graft and care that they put into their work really shows with the end result - and we have saved money by not buying new furniture and keeping the pieces we really love - it's a win-win all round 😊

Having seen it on his website I ordered a Victorian pitch pine desk from Selwyn in the middle of the last lockdown and he agreed to hold it for me until lockdown was over. After a bit of a delay which was my "fault" as the room it was going into wasn't ready the desk arrived today with Selwyn having driven it from Liverpool to north Wales. I'm delighted with the desk and the finish and extremely pleased that I found it - nothing seemed to be too much of a problem for him. In fact I already have plans to visit the showroom to see what else he has that isn't on the website - I can already feel the pain in my wallet (not that he is expensive, just that I know I'll want more bits) lol.
