Nice castle and beautiful views of lake windermere. Short walks round the castle, ale sure you walk down to the lake to get some good views. It's national trust, so parking is free for members otherwise £5 and the parking money goes to help maintain the castle, the same as national trust membership. I would recommend joining national trust.

Great Castle in the middle of Lake District. At the moment you can only visit grounds. Walk around Castle and Woodland. From there short walk to see few boat houses by the Lake. Great views around towards the mountains.

Brilliant little detour for our family. Castle is in really good condition but don’t expect suits of armour. It’s a lovely example of a Victorian industrial magnate’s residence. We enjoyed the stories of how it was used as a naval college such as the secret escape to the pub! Kids loved the woodland play area and the lakeside walk before we had delicious cake and coffee at the cafe. Ended up having to extend the parking we stayed longer than expected! Thank you.

One of my go to places in the Lakes, we always include a walk to Wray Castle and a visit to Joey's vegan cafe which recently opened. The cafe is fabulous with loads of delicious cakes, pies, pasties and usually two hot dishes of the day. We ordered a potato, roast garlic, pickled onion and vegan cheese pasty and a curried cauliflower soup with crispy onions and sourdough. Absolutely delicious food and well priced with two cans of water it was £13..a bargain. Also sell bread to take away. Will definitely be revisiting, a trip to the Lakes isn't right with dropping into Joey's.

We spent almost four hours at Wray Castle. We arrived just after 9.00 and there were only two other cars in the car park, by 10.30 the car park was full and people were struggling to park. This was over May Half Term and a beautiful sunny day so may have been a busy week. Our 4 and 8 year old enjoyed the play park which was lovely and shady. We enjoyed a walk down to the lake house and then onto the viewing point and back around to the castle. We purchased a coffee from the cafe which was very nice. The Castle opened at 10.30, you can only view downstairs and its empty so we were finished within 10 minutes. We then went down to the shingle beach and the boys enjoyed a paddle before a picnic lunch. A very enjoyable morning, just get there early enough to ensure you get parked.

The castle is only open on ground floor with empty rooms. The ground have walks by the lake and footpaths around the estate which are well maintained and easily accessible. Enjoyed our visit, food truck with drinks and cakes was open and hopefully soon the cafe will be open. Car park gets very full on busy days.

Grounds are nice, only the ground floor of the castle was open and it was clear that it is in the process of being restored back to its former glory. The staff were helpful and it was nice to sit out t and have an ice cream. I would like to visit here again when all of the restoration work is completed. The car park can get full quite quickly but you will eventually get a space.
