Excellent food for the price point. The kitchen pace is a little on the slow side, but that's no problem if you're looking for a leisurely meal. The wine list is reasonably priced and we just went for one of the house wines, which was perfectly fine. We were staying at The Grand and it's a short 5 minute car ride away.

Fantastic food, not only tasted delicious but looked amazing too. The service was friendly and relaxed, just perfect. Highly recommended!

I have dined here twice now and the meal has been wonderful on both occasions. It is easy to see that each item on each dish has been carefully planned and crafted. The pairing of the different elements on plate is exquisite. I particularly enjoyed the matching of the dried kumquat with the cured duck liver parfait. The decor is lovely with entertaining murals and a 'candlelit' feel. The tables are nicely spaced and the background music is pleasant. The wine menu is a fairly weighty tome and contains many delights. The hostess is a pleasure to talk to and very knowledgeable. Pictured is the selection of cheese desert and the rhubarb and blood orange desert. All in all a bargain for the price.

Great experience at this hidden gem. Everything was perfect from the finger food to desert, from the wine to service. The venue is a perfect setting for this warm and precious place.

We did have lunch at Melton as a start point of our trip in York, which we were not regret it. 3 courses menu was amazing and it was included canapés and breads as well. The food are very good. The portion are good to just fill your tummy perfectly. Don’t skip their dessert, it was amazing!

One of the best food and wine experiences we've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Excellent and knowledgeable staff. A must for any foodie! I recommend the tasting menu with the pairing wine flight, which is either 6 or 7 courses.

Three course early evening dinner. Canapes and breads, then scallops, cod, and almond cake. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted great. A nice treat for a special occasion
