Lovely bright station. Close to all the shops. Staff are the best ever, so helpful even carrying shopping to bottom of escalator. Not once have I arrived at the station when a staff member hasn't offered to help.

Trains are usually on time and flow through the station is good. The staff are friendly when I've spoken to them. Don't forget that there's an escalator that can take you straight from the northern line to the Wirral line. Also maps massively underestimates time from walking between the lines so you may make an earlier transfer than it says.

Centre of city so very convenient. However does not accept e-tickets currently. So you either have to collect your booked tickets from Lime Street station (20 minutes return walk) or buy tickets in either of the grocery shops.

The train was delayed and where it arrived it was dirty and and after leaving the train and asking where to pay I was told buy a very aggressive security guard I had to pay a fine because I was 'fare evading' even though there was no one on the train collecting the fares. Also it isn't very central and isn't Liverpool's main station

Can get very busy on the platform, however trains are easy to find and staff are always visible on the platforms if you need help. Toilets are available and there is an alright amount of seating near the ticket barriers (limited seating down on the platforms though). Could do with additional bins.

Had an unpleasant experience with a member of staff at the ticket barrier who'd never heard of LNER and the ticket I'd booked on their app. Had to persuade them that it was indeed a valid ticket, to which they passive aggressively responded that they didn't care if I got fined for not having a valid ticket.
