The actual medical staff here are good, I have not got a complaint about them. Doctors and nurses work tirelessly, long hours, and have to do boosters etc on top of their work load, I totally understand this.
However, in a point of constructive criticism, being as I won't resort to leaving an overworked NHS service a 'negative' review.
The recent text message you sent out saying you had 'redeployed your staff to the booster program, and for the next several months are only taking 'urgent' cases', this text left me feeling even more as if I have NO GP at all. I have never been seen by a GP face to face at Lister House, despite me having several health concerns going on at this time.
I also have high functioning Autism, and I want to make you aware of how much distress this text message caused me.
I still do not understand the content of this message, can someone please explain to me what you mean by 'urgent'?.
One star given for this poorly thought out text message, which also made it into the Derby Telegraph newspaper!. I bet that went down like a lead balloon with your management. Perhaps you should consider sending out a reworded one to clarify any confusion?. Please remember you have people on your list with mental health difficulties, conditions such as dementia, learning disabilities, all different kinds of people who may find processing that message difficult, and such a message could well lead to confusion, and potentially urgent problems going untreated, then landing up in A&E.
This message, for many people, will undoubtedly mean landing up at the Royal, when actually, a GP could have addressed their issue.
Thanks,
Cheryl
