5/ 5

Like many other reviewers, I had Peter as my guide for two different tours. I took the North Moors, Whitby, Steam Train full day, then two days later did the Yorkshire Dales Tour. I would certainly agree that the tours are very well organized, use small group vehicles that are appropriate for some of the one lane roads, have well trained and polite guides, and have created excellent routes that keep you mostly to backroads while also packing in lots of the best sights and stops. Peter was very good with time management and knows the areas well enough to make quick decisions about “extra stops” or how to alter the route to best maximize the experience without missing anything. (And yes, I too was provided a map of Fountains Abbey BEFORE going in, with Peter clearly marking the drop off and pick up locations as well as walking me in and explaining the grounds. Very helpful!) Unfortunately, it rained off and on during the Dales Tour, but Peter did a great job of working around where it happened to be raining at various times of the day while still getting us to everything on the tour. I very much liked that although there were enough customers for the Moors tour to warrant three vehicles (minibus or van), we did not necessarily travel in convoy, allowing each smaller group time alone at various stops. I also want to publicly thank the owner, Chris, for not cancelling on me last minute when I ended up being the only person on the Dales Tour. I’ve had companies do that before, and am, in fact, scrambling right now to rearrange the next week of my trip because a company just canceled on me. I was in Yorkshire specifically for family connections to the Dales, and REALLY appreciate him accommodating me. Both of these trips were well organized, but also just plain fun! I definitely recommend the company, and would certainly use them again.
