Loved the place! A very warm welcome and breakfast. It was a cosy place with beautiful lake front views and close to the nature . The owner was a very sweet kind lady. Our stay of 2 nights was just not enough and infact plan to go back again...definitely recommend it!! :)

I had a party on the weekend for my father and had guest stay at Gables. They found it lovely, cosy and friendly place to stay. Ilse was so lovely easy and helpful, I would recommend Gables by the Lake in Coal Point.

We've been here before on 2 separate occasions over the last 3 years. The 2nd occasion with our parents from Europe. Each time it's been a very pleasant experience with a warm welcome on arrival and a lovely fresh continental breakfast delivered to the studio we'd occupied each time. The location is beautiful overlooking Lake Macquarie. This time not such a warm welcome. Had difficulty to get someone's attention over their 3 barking and not so friendly dogs, that we'd arrived and sadly the continental breakfast delivery to the room was no more. Instead a very medicocre breakfast in the fridge and the room, whilst tidy and nothing changed from previous visits, wasn't as pristine as visits before. Overall disappointing.
