Room walls are really thin. I could hear conversations going on in rooms around me. Shower was really awkward to stand under, and the water pressure was really poor. I would not advise the food either. Really disappointed as it was recommended to me as a nice place to stay.

I really like this hotel - its conveniently located directly opposite the Metro centre (walking distance). It has an excellent fitness centre on site, it's well equipped for both weight lifting and cardio. The cast iron restaurant inside the hotel is very good. The rooms are nice. Parking available at the hotel too. Good swimming pool located in the hotel.

4/ 5

My wife and I stayed here at the start of our two-week road trip around Scotland in September-October 2021. I had stayed here several times previously on business, but this was my first leisure stay with my wife. The location is great, near the A1(M), the Metrocentre, and trains into Newcastle. Parking is free. The check in was so not Marriott. I am used to being thanked for being a Platinum guest. This time, I was just given a plain envelope with two room keys in it. Our room was tired. It is ready to be refurbished and/or a deep clean. I had noticed this on previous stays, but my wife notices these things so much more. Breakfast was quite greasy. Everything seemed to have been fried. After our stay, the hotel send me a "satisfaction" survey, which I completed. To be fair, I received a polite and prompt reply from the hotel manager explaining that the receptionist was a trainee, and that further training would be given. The apology was appreciated.

Was booked in here by my work as ran out of driving time to get back to Scotland. Absolutely brilliant. Nice room. A little bit dated but really clean and comfortable. Really close to the metro centre. The on-site restaurant also does room service which I had. Really good portions and really tasty. Would love to come back again. 10 out of 10.
