Dukes at Komedia Picturehouse brighton

Comfy seats, brilliant popcorn, great sound system in a small cinema. Only two screens, even the big one feels small. I love the Dukes at Komedia and would try for ticket here first over any other Brighton cinema.

Dukes at Komedia brings the cosy, more mature appeal of the historic Duke of York cinema to a more central location within Brighton. That means comfy seats, even sofas, a good range of snacks, beer, ale, wine, and spirits. You can even take their sturdy glassware into the screen with you, because you're treated like an adult. All that adds up to make the atmosphere feel a bit nicer than most cinemas. They also go to a lot of effort to celebrate the medium without being too biased or snobby. They'll celebrate independent cinema one week but then have a Marvel themed mural by the bar the next.

A nice grown up cinema experience. I would have liked to sample the beer but alas I had to drive. The screen I saw wasn't huge but it's a very different feel to an out of town multiplex.

Went today for 1st time. Really liked the experience inc the loo.

It was wonderful to be back. It was all very socially distanced and they have properly vented AC! (The film was ok too).
