Love this cinema and what they do. Big fan of the late night screenings and throwback films. The seating in the screen is comfortable and well kept. The atmosphere is calming and classy. The staff needs to find the fun a bit more. They shuffle around miserably everytime I visit, but that's easy to look over. Full stars: The cinema brings a good atmosphere and delivers quality cinema experiences. Someone should really tell the staff though.

Big fan of this place. Always a pleasant experience with friendly staff, clean facilities and a large comfy auditorium. Absolutely no comparison with the large chain cinemas.

A historic cinema. We try to use the balcony, for comfort and view of the screen. Sound quality is now good. The upstairs bar is open and has a good selection of drinks and snacks. Staff are courteous and friendly, making an excellent choice of cinema outing..

The Kids club on a Saturday morning is great for a cheap morning out £3 each kids and adults sometimes there is a drawing theme on the front stage before the film …. Historically this place is one of the first places in the uk to show film over a hundred years ago before sound … it’s dripping in culture…. Love this place may it live on for years to come

4/ 5

Duke of York's, apparently the UK's oldest cinema! It's hard not to believe it when you see the cinema, it's got a lovely old fashioned feel to it, the inside of it is gorgeous and it even has theatre curtains they pull back when the show starts! The seats are also very comfy, the sound is great, the screen is visible from seemingly anywhere, too. The seats aren't positioned in a staircase manner like most cinemas do these days, so everyone is on the same level. The staff is very warm and welcoming, always friendly. It is a genuinely great cinema, they show a lot of films and are currently hosting a film festival too. My only complaint so far Picturehouse cinemas is that the prices are much too high. £3.40 for a stupidly small pack of m&ms? The popcorn is also quite pricey, so I would recommend you buy something outside of the cinema instead of buying it there. Other than that, great cinema, I've had a great time everytime I've gone there.
