I was really disappointed with my recent experience here. We originally bough the car from this dealership, and that experience was great. However getting the MOT and oil change done was infuriating and costly. Since I live quite some distance from the dealership I opted to wait while the work was done. I was told it would take two hours to complete the work, and if I was waiting I could either be there at 8:00 or 1:30. Since I had to take my son to nursery, 1:30 was the only choice. Now in order to pick him up I'd need to leave by 4:30, which I figured gave me a hour of leeway for them to be running late, and since I was in the slot for people explicitly waiting, I thought they wouldn't keep me longer than necessary. Now I was quite happy to wait the two hours, I brought some work with me and settled in. However after two hours, there was no sign of my car being done, and no one came to speak to me. After waiting a further 30 mins, so it was now 4:00 I went to ask how long it would be as I would need to leave by 4:30 to pick my son up from nursery. The gentleman I spoke to took the car details and disappeared. Shortly, another gentleman, the one who had booked me in to start with appeared with my keys. It turns out the car was done, but no one had bothered to let me know, or get the paperwork done, despite the fact that I was sat waiting, apparently unnecessarily. To add salt to the wound the gentleman who gave me my keys told me that he just needed to finish the paperwork on my car, and deal with two other customers, then he could sort me out. So my wait continued. 40 minutes later he waved me over, and halfheartedly apologised for the wait. Now if you recall I had told them I needed to leave by 4:30, it was not 4:40. Given that it was rush hour in York, there was no way I was going to get to the nursery in time. I ended up having to pay a 50 pound fee for a late pick up. The excuse I was given for waiting for 1 hour and 10 mins, "The system was running a bit slow". It's pathetic. No one had the courtesy to tell me there might be a delay, I told them I had to leave by a certain time, and they still kept me waiting, unnecessarily. Whilst I was waiting I was surrounded by staff members who were chatting and watching TV, yet I had to wait for the man with my paperwork to find the time to deal me. So in short my time was wasted, I was essentially ignored, and if I hadn't pestered them who know when I would have been able to leave, and to top it off it ended up costing me an extra 50 pounds. Next time I'll try going to Leeds or Harrogate.
