Staff were very helpful and friendly but the place felt and looked more like a detention centre than a “resort”, with lots of concrete blocks, dying plants, pointless metal gates around for no reason. It has a large pool that is probably the centrepiece and we are happy it was deserted in spite of it being fully booked. It’s also a 25 min cab drive to Darwin

Nice staff, clean rooms, but i didnt like how the bathroom light was not able to be turned off, it was operated by a motion sensor so in the middle of the night if you need to go to the toilet the bright fluro light would come on n blind u! also room service menu needs work!

I do realise staff shortages are an issue everywhere but it was a pretty average experience here the last 10 nights in a pool villa. VERY basic ( not luxury as they’d have you think ) , cleaning consisted of making the bed , replacing the towels ( sometimes missed ) and that’s about it. Toilet wasn’t cleaned once , floor was never swept and it’s clear running a dust cloth over anything wasn’t a consideration. At $230 a night ( that was a big discount for a group I’m sure it’s normally more than that ) I couldn’t in any way recommend this venue. Many in the group ( motel rooms ) didn’t have them serviced for days. Staff in the restaurant tried hard but clearly they are understaffed. To me the whole resort had that “ unloved “ feeling. I gave it 2 stars as the young international staff were trying but they are really lacking guidance from the owners / management staff.

Just spent a week at club tropical and did enjoy our time there. Stayed in a poolside villa Which was nice but outdoor kitchen needed a few extras - a kitchen knife, a cutting board and some storage containers would be useful. The general maintenance around that beautiful pool would be advantageous. Grass needs cutting and weeds need attention. Also the ability to be able to purchase staples like the paper, milk and bread, etc would be useful. We did enjoy a meal at the restaurant which was nice and the staff member serving us was delightful as were the cleaning staff.
