We shared a unit in Mantra Triology, Cairns - in tower one, with a “sea view” (though more like a sea glimpse, from a corner of the balcony). The unit was comfortable, clean and we had everything we needed for a week’s stay, even if we had to request fresh towels, toilet paper, etc from reception and not having room service. Nothing was a hassle for them. Customer service in all other aspects was amazing, with staff consistently caring, helpful and friendly. One small problem was that the room had a fridge/freezer but the freezer did not hold ice. We bought several ice trays, after being told by staff in reception that they didn’t supply but we still had no ice for “5 O’clock Happy Hour and drinks we enjoyed on the balcony”. The freezer wasn’t working to be able to freeze anything or keep bought ice frozen. Not a major major but disappointing. The location of the hotel is amazing!! Right on The Esplanade, it provides a huge choice of places to eat out, go for walks and enjoy the holiday atmosphere of the town. The unit totally suited our needs and made a fantastic holiday extra special.

We would not stay here again! We go away often whether for work or pleasure and this place was a huge disappointment for us. I only took 1 photo on the way out but didn’t think to take more :( We were also travelling with a toddler which made some of the below problems (especially in terms of how damp it was) even worse. Location was the only good thing about it. We first checked into a room which was tiny and we felt the whole place was dated in terms of decor and there were holes in the walls of the corridors. There are also 3 different towers so it’s a bit of a walk from reception to your room, not ideal when you have a lot of luggage. We then noticed that the bathroom didn’t have any ventilation, the shower had mould, the shower door didn’t close properly, the tap was almost falling off in the bathroom sink and the shower rack was broken so I didn’t have anywhere to hang the towels to dry (really annoying in such a humid location). You also have to visit reception to hire any beach towels and if you need any extra towels in your room as they are not replenished each day. I was so uncomfortable that we were considering changing hotels and asking for a refund, but instead we ended up asking if there were any different rooms available. The receptions tried briefly to help us and showed us a couple of different rooms which were equally as bad or worse with mismatched furniture, but said they were pretty booked out so didn’t have much available. We ended up settling for an accessible room purely because it had a bit more space, and not as much mould in the bathroom, and gave up our pool view for a street view room which was extremely loud at night!!! The accessible room meant that water flooded the bathroom everytime we had a shower and the bathroom was basically just wet the entire time. The place was just so uncomfortable and we did not have a good experience at all staying here, we would never stay here again! No

It’s a shocker. Damp damp & more damp. You don’t find out until you check in that there is no housekeeping. We had no towels, were told they are running short so got 2 which had to last 6 days along with the one flannel. Car park stinks so block your nose when going down there. Hallways also smell terrible. No free wifi. Found Clothing from previous guests under the bed. Bathroom vanity falling apart. All our clothes are damp from condensation in the room. Check in took forever. Avoid

Staff very efficient and friendly. The free parking is not undercover but any spot in their drive way. Two nights had to park outside the hotel. No restaurant or food available. Would not stay there again.
