Delicious food, little heavy on the portion size though which meant I avoided dessert. Quite pricey too but then this is Clifton! Toilets are annoyingly small. Atmosphere seemed quiet save the rather intimate company of other tables. Service was prompt and not too intrusive.

We had a fantastic meal at the Clifton Sausage! The food was fantastic, we had belly pork and it was some of the best we have ever had. On the specials board they also had smoked garlic mash, which was also amazing! The deserts were also fantastic, the chocolate brownie was out of this world, it melted in the mouth, it was accompanied with home made honeycomb, which was also amazing. In addition to the quality of the food, the service was also first rate. The staff were lovely and very attentive. Highly recommended, they have really have got it all right at the Clifton Sausage!

We were expecting more. We went for a 2 courses Sunday roast for £19, 1 side and 1 pint of beer for almost £50. Sides are charged extra (for example the cauliflower with cheese is £4.5). We weren't asked how we wanted the meat cooked, the beer we asked for was gone and we were not given a good knife to cut the meat (we had to ask for that). We were not impressed by the service. I didn't like the mushroom soup but my wife did. The pork belly and beef were average. We previously went to another local pub in clifton that was not so highly rated and we ate better and spent less. Maybe the sausages are better? We left not satisfied as we were both expecting more.

I have been here a couple of times and on both occasions the food has been absolutely belting. Awesome quality but the restaurant isn't stuffy or pretentious, it has a really good atmosphere. They usually serve locally sourced beers as well which is a nice touch.

The staff were lovely as usual. The sausage rolls were epic all be it too salty like the rest of their sausage kin. Given this new normal we live in, I was surprised to see that the venue didn't seem to have any forms of ventilation. All in all a great lunch/dinner location that we go back to every year but I would appreciate if they made their menu healthier and opened a window.

Meal with a few great friends, last minute booking. Was so good as we hadn't really been out since restrictions ended. Great food, good prices. Fab staff. I asked how long food would take as I'm type one diabetic and needed to inject insulin before the meal. They were so accommodating and lovely about it. Service was excellent considering it was a Friday night. Definitely worth a return trip.

The Sausage is a really charming restaurant serving traditional West Country grub with refinement. You will be welcomed by a lovely team and a manager who was quite a character. I can't really find fault, so it'll have to be 5 stars
