Easy to use and great staff, very affordable

Hired a car from this company/Avis in the past and had no trouble. This time was a totally different experience - booked a van online for the following day and made payment online, and brought along all the required documents and even got a code from the DVLA which was stipulated as being required (though the guy at the desk didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I mentioned this), and then when I arrived was refused the van on the basis that they couldn't confirm my address - I was then asked to provide two utility bills/bank statements, and for a 5.45 booking this was obviously not possible given they close at 6. The website made absolutely NO mention of this and I had not required this when I hired a car a year ago. Complete waste of time - book elsewhere!

similar experience to others. brought all documentation along that i was asked to provide, refused because they couldn't confirm my address - i have just bought a new house and moved in that month. Had to then provide two further forms of ID (which hadnt been mentioned until this point, warning would be nice, ive never needed these before) but couldnt go to get them as they were closing in 15 minutes. I was really desperate and needed a car that evening, so they said they'd transfer my booking to the airport branch but for even more money, as the airport branch charges more for the same cars (that in itself is ridiculous). I had to then taxi back to my office to pick up documents, then taxi to the airport as i was in a hurry - and they didnt even check them when i got there?!! the 2nd member of staff was snooty and unfriendly, i took a telling off because the other branch shouldn't have transferred my booking to them without checking apparently. refused to comp the difference, using the fact that i used a comparison website to book through as a cop out. 1st and last time I will use budget, never had any problems with any other company and i rent cars very often.

First class service, very friendly staff. Would use again.
