Barnitts Ltd york

A legendary York shop, selling pretty much everything you can think of. Not many shops left like this one, worth a wander around, some lovely furniture upstairs too. Friendly staff and a browsing friendly atmosphere.

What this shop doesn't sell, you don't need. Looks small from outside but it's like going into Narnia. It sells everything. Lighting section is particularly good. A proper old school shop well worth a visit.

There isn't much that this place doesn't sell except for food. I'm still surprised when I come across things I didn't think would be sold here. Large store, great to browse around.

Loads of different things. On one visit found what we had been looking for but couldn't find anywhere else! Perfect!

Love this place for hardware and tools. Never seen such a wide range other than online. Reasonably priced too for many things

You can buy almost anything you need

What a fantastic place it sells EVERYTHING. More seriously great DIY section and an extensive lighting section with a very helpful staff member. Worth a visit just to see what they stock. As an example, visited last week and bought a light shade, and a cocktail shaker. Time before a small frying pan, Christmas lights, and some glue!!

Wonderful shop with everything you could possibly need. They have an immense selection of stock and the staff are really knowledgeable and helpful. Great to have a shop like this in the centre of York

Honestly, this is the best shop in the entire world for do it yourself, lighting, glassware, kitchenware actually for absolutely anything you need about the house. It is quite my favourite shop in York. Huge. Masses of stock. It really is like a wonderland. Just go and see what I mean!!
