An interesting library because it's not just a library. It's a combined library and school, which may be a little surprising for the first time visitor as there are school alarms going off and school pupils knocking around between lessons. Taken just as a library it's pleasent enough with good, comfortable chairs, but it is quite small. The books are limited, but with a good selection (I spotted a couple of little gems) and the Librarians were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The building itself is a modern glass structure in a heavily redeveloped part of Beswick. Apart from the brightly coloured doorways which look like they were attached as an afterthought, the building itself is quite attractive. The open space outside - mostly deserted when I visited - is a nice enough place to sit and take a break, but slightly disconcerting due to the emptiness of the area. Something of an oddity, but a likeable one.
