Don't use this library if you want any quiet time whatsoever.Don't ask for any assistance with noise reduction as the staff or one in particular couldn't care less and seem to have the idea that she can talk down to anyone younger than her. in brief last May my daughter who is currently studying at Manchester Uni, came in the day before an exam and for some bizarre reason both sets of doors were wedged open. Imagine not only the noise this allowed in with the traffic and a bus stop so nearby, not to mention the smell of fumes from outside. When my daughter politely asked could the doors be closed because of the noise, a manager came out asking if she was the young girl complaining? although most people in the library had 2 layers of clothes on the request was denied for the comfort of the staff. leaving in disgust at this attitude and having to travel 5 miles round trip to Heaton Moor is not what should have happened.

Went to do a test their last week.Thought libraries were quite ,got half way through a test and the staff were all in cinversation with each other.Asked if they had any head phones as it was quite noiay and I was doing a test that cost me £39.00 was told no, but Morrissons gad them explained again that I was doing a test, which fell on deaf ears and there cinversation got even louder.Could not wait to finish and get out of there. Will be using Manchester ( Wythenshawe) which is a shame as I live in Reddish. Staff with consideration make a massive difference.
