I’ve had some great nights here and love the songs they play. However I can’t give it much more than 3 stars as the song selection is repetitive for regulars, they use plastic cups, and the bouncers will often kick people out or not allow access because of things they make up (like people being too drunk or on drugs when they’re not), and personally I think the treatment is sexist - I’ve been treated nicely and looked after by bouncers in a situation I could’ve easily been thrown out whereas my boyfriend has been treated like dirt for doing nothing, and I’ve seen other lads get similar treatment too. Awesome style and music but needs to get more professional in my opinion.

Came to 42s for the first time on Saturday and I find it kinda ridiculous how you charge 10p extra for a straw but you use disposable plastic cups. The floor was full of them, can I suggest using reusable plastic cups. Every pub, club In Preston uses reusable ones and have members of staff coming round regularly to collect them. Thought the big city clubs would be way ahead of small ones like us, when it comes to recycling? ... obviously not.

Come here to be surrounded by 16 year olds, bouncers who have a very very questionable level of professionalism and a playlist does not change and every night is extremely repetitive. For some reason the club attracts 16 year old girls, very desperate boys and creepy men. Bouncers are on a weird power trip, they only care about flirting or declining entry, instead of the safest of the people going to the club, or any incidents. Stay away!!

Was great when I was a student. Happy memories of getting wasted and dancing to top indie tunes. It was a good solid dive bar back then. I hear it’s cleaned up it’s act.

Favourite club ever. Also the bouncer let me queue jump the biggest queue ive ever seen for my hen do. Hero. (Ps. It is a stick to the floor indie club which sells VK and skol etc, so just manage your expectations. Great music though, although it was lacking playing the manchester greats it used to play when i came here during uni (2006-2009))
