All staff are friendly, helpful and man their stations with a welcoming smile. My experience when I've been is, its way overcrowded, unable to get a proper leisurely swim, unable to get onto some machines due to other members hogging them or machines continuely broken with 'do not use' labels stuck on them. Machine repairs are not done quickly here. In my opinion the swimming pool is far too small to accomodate exercise classes, parents with children and swimmers who go to swim, all at the same time. Its pure chaos when it happens! For all vehicle drivers, the big lack of car park spaces is noticeable issue. Many times I've had to turn away because there's no where to park up. Even when I've checked the 'live' google updates for the club, it says the sports centre is 'not busy'. I've driven there and It's quite the opposite, it's busy and full. This happens very regularly. And has prompted me to write this review. There are other businesses next to the sports centre that use the car parking spaces and also shoppers who dont go into the gym use the spaces, they input their car reg into the sports centre registration logging machine, then walk into town! Its a good place to come if you get the timing right and its quiet, or your on foot, leaving car at home. But other than that stay away at busy peak times. The more members that join the less opportunity you'll get and the more overcrowding will occur...........covid 19 still exists.........and social distancing at this sports centre is null and void!

For those who remember this gym used to be called LA Fitness. Firstly I have to say the music constantly played here over the loud speakers is very distasteful in every sense of the word. And at such a high volume you cannot hear your own music on your ipod or iphone music players. Not everyone wants to hear 'gangsta rap, grime rap, driller rap music' every time they come in to workout. Who ever is in charge of the music playlist here is not a customer minded person whats so ever they have their own agenda going on. One thing we all now know about Sports Direct or anything to do with the company is that it peddles 'cheap' products in large quantities. Sadly this gym is clearly evident of this, there's no quality here, just a very large quantity of members due to the membership cost per month now being peanuts to join. As a result of this lack of quality, there are visibly a lot of long term broken machines that haven't been fixed dotted around the place. Around the swimming pool area there are always loose fitted sharp broken uncemented floor tiles missing, constant cold showers. The pool area is a small area. And there's a regular struggle to get a decent unobstructed swim in the pool most of the time, either due to children with families or other classes causing obstructions or people disobeying the rules, diving , jumping in. The staff don't do anything about it, nor enforce any policies or timetable scheduling. The steam room is mostly always out of order either to poor maintenance or members damaging the components of it, trying to get it to produce immediate steam instead of letting it work naturally. Again this room has been, is used by young children unsupervised on many occasions. The jacuzzi is also out of bounds on a regular basis. When it does work young children are seen using it at their parents approval, when clearly the rules state they're not to. There is always a queue to use the small sauna. Which is in need of a good disenfecting and cleaning. The cheap membership monthly fees have helped to ruin this sporting facility. Not to mention the disrespectful members who take liberties in the facility. Sometimes you have to wonder if its actually worth coming here? My advice is if you can afford to pay a little extra membership and go somewhere else where there is a quality clean respectful feel about the place, where there is tasteful music played at an audible background volume level, whereby rules are enforced properly by the staff, workout machines are maintained properly and heat rooms maintained and sanitised regularly then try somewhere a little upmarket, because this gym doesn't meet any of the above. The cheaper option in life is not always the best, you'll be sorely disappointed coming here.

1/ 5

Steam room was out of use for nearly 6 weeks, then followed by Jacuzzi Hot Spa broke for over 8 weeks still not fixed, lately the Main Boiler has broken down in Late November. No Hot Water in Showers (ICE COLD SHOWER'S ONLY) Snowing - '2 outside, Swimming Pool out of Action because water is Cold, Along with loose and Broken tiles around changing rooms and Pool area, sand at the bottom of swimming pool and Noticed Two Cleaners only they cover a full week. Showers area not clean, they Smell and Rubbish scattered around changing areas and in the shower cubicles. NOT Good!! Takes over 6-8 weeks for things to be Repaired in there. Yes Cheap but if you got No Hot water, and things broken, which you can't use the Facilities your paying for then what is the Point!! Staff are all Great, But Not a Good Gym.. noticed people have Cancelled their Memberships because everything Explained!! Am Not Happy at all. :-(
