Hall closed (Covid) and even though we were late in the season to see the gardens in their summer glory, had a wonderful couple of hours strolling around the grounds. Cafe was lovely also. Only stopped for a drink and snack, but on reflection wished we'd stayed for the Sunday lunch!! Would definitely recommend for somewhere quiet to visit and will be back in the late spring and summer.

Lovely place to walk around. Use the map as the great gardens can be easy to get lost in! Can't say the staff were particularly welcoming on this occasion but everyone has an off day I suppose. Food Hall was closed but the drinks from the cafe were lovely!

What a great place. Beautifully tended gardens, with a surprise around every corner. Met by very friendly, helpful staff, just a shame we couldn't go in the house due to COVID. Well worth a visit!

Beautiful gardens, immaculately maintained. Amazing topiary; unusual plants and trees; great variety from section to section. Amazing black ducks with a green translucent tint. It was great to see a large herd of deer in the extensive parkland. Several places to sit and enjoy the beauty. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We were greeted by the most amiable of gentlemen, and guided round the house by a couple of delightful ladies, all of whom were fonts of knowledge about this wonderful old house. Well worth a visit, especially as it's having its Christmas decorations put up at the moment. Excellent!!

** Christmas Market** Just been to the 2021 Christmas Market and cannot say enough good things about it. We paid £5 per adult and got the market, a look around the house and gardens in with the price which we weren't expecting. The market was amazing an excellent variety of stalls everybody was in good spirits and a very reasonable price for food and gifts. A massive thank you to Holker Hall staff for the excellent organisation and all the traders we will be back next year.

Raining during our visit to the gardens. We did not visit the house. Gardens very expansive and varied. Very interesting array of plants, scrubs and trees, together with gardens features. Large parkland with deer. Autumn colours not yet a feature but imagine the gardens would be interesting at all times of the year. Good cafe' with open covered area and outdoor seating ( when the sun shines!) Indoor eating as well. Well presented good food but rather expensive.
